Strawberry Fayre 25th June

So, our first summer fayre of the year and an incredibly early start with our Chief Hog Master, Lee, up before the birds started singing to get the hog cooking away.

A battle with two fifty-kilogram pigs at 4am, a great bit of morning exercise!!

With our marquee in place by 9am all we needed was our piggies to arrive in their personally driven limo.

We had great support and guidance from Thea and her team of helpers when we arrived and throughout the day. Directing cars, marking out the field and setting up the fayre looked like hard work but was set up with great proficiency.

An event to ensure the future upkeep of the Village Hall, which is a vital part of the local community.

Our team of Blinders arrived at midday. Alison, Alan, Jodie, Lee, and Ray looked resplendent in their period outfits. A bit of attitude on display for the cameras but always a witty comment, good, humored banter, and big smiles once we get underway.

The delicious aroma of Hog Roast enticing people over to use well before serving was due, and once that Hog was lifted people quickly started to appear to try out our food..

The hogs were delicious, with meat falling off the bone, delicious stuffing, and the most beautiful crackling. It tasted amazing if I don’t say so myself.

The afternoon went by quickly with almost 300 people sampling our food. We had incredibly rewarding feedback on the day from everyone.

We have already had new enquiries from those that enjoyed both the food and the service provided by the team on Sunday.

We finished off a most enjoyable afternoon with a glass of Pimm’s and Mr. Whippy. A perfect end to a perfect day.
